Killeavy Host Sevens Tournament!
Preparations are well underway now for the first Armagh sevens tournament, to be held at the club on Easter Saturday, 22nd March. We hope to have 16-20 teams taking part, on our two main fields and in Meigh. The initial invite has gone to the top two divisions in Armagh, and depending on uptake, we may widen our base to other clubs in the region. The club will be open on the day, and we're hoping for a great days craic and a good and meaningful competition to add to the Armagh football calendar. The tournament has been endorsed by the county board, and official referees will be present!! So make sure you're there to help or just enjoy your day out.

Championship Draws
Killeavy drew Maghery in the senior championship, the game provisionally down for Pearse Og Park on 17th August at 4-00pm. The minors got Silverbridge, provisionally fixed for 6th September at 4-00pm in Killeavy. The U21 got a first round bye, their second round game scheduled for the 7th May at 7-00pm.

South Armagh Whistler of The Year
Well done to Killeavy refereeing ace, Seamus Faloon, whose pragmatic and no-nonsense style of arbitration, has led to him winning the prestigious South Armagh referee of the year award in his maiden season in the job. Still recovering from illness, Im sure Seamus will soon have his sights set on Pat McAneanys position as number one referee in the land, when hes fully back on his feet!!

Get Well Soon Seamus
Great to see Killeavy star Seamus Toner out of hospital and on the road to recovery after his recent accident. Take your time getting back into good health, but remember the league starts in April, and we need you back on the pitch asap. Good man!!

U21 Lose out in Final
Killeavy, despite an early Seamus Toner goal, couldn't quite match a very good Cruppen side, in the U21 final in Dromintee on Sunday. Match Report.

U21 Put Lazarus to Shame!!!
Smash and grab time again, as a magnificent last 15 minutes of "Give it a lash" football brought Killeavy through to the U21 championship final!! They were 9 points down against a fancied Granemore outfit, with 12 minutes to play... they'll talk about those 12 minutes for years!! Match Report.

PROMOTED AT LAST
A blistering finish, which saw Stevie McDonnell hit 2-4 in the second half brought Killeavy back into Division 1 for the first time in four years!!! Match Report.

U21s into the semi-finals
An incredible last minute miss from Clans saw Killeavy stumble into the semi-final of the U21 championship. Any championship win is a great win however!! Match Report.

Seniors late show eventually kicks into gear
A quadruple substitution after 35 minutes ignited Killeavy to a storming finish against relegated Annaghmore. They really did struggle up to that point, going in a point down at the break. Match Report.

Kevin McArdle watches his man like a hawk in the first half.

Great Win for U21s
A splendid highscoring effort from Killeavy's young side was far too strong for Keady on Saturday afternoon. Match Report.

Killeavy win last away match in Lurgan
Two first half goals, one from Adrian Doran, one from Stevie McDonnell, meant Killeavy just got over the tough challenge of Clann Eirean under lights on Thursday night. Match Report.

Killeavy Draw tight encounter in Cullyhanna
Four points from Stephen Malone helped Killeavy to a draw against top of the table St Pats. There was nothing between the sides, and a draw leaves Killeavy still well placed in their promotion challenge. Match Report.

Well Done to Jamie and Patrick
Very well done to Jamie Cosgrove and Patrick Burns, who represented Killeavy, when Armagh U12 played out an honourable draw with Kildare in Newtown on Sunday afternoon.

Karl O'Hare benefit night
A massive crowd turned up in the club for the Karl O'Hare benefit night. It was a marvellous nights craic, and raised a few pound for a very popular player. Well done to everyone from Killeavy soccer and Gaelic clubs, who came together to plan the evening.

Terrific win for the U16 team
Up against Armagh All County champions St Pats in the league semi-final, Killeavy ran away to a superb eight point victory on a score of 2-08 to 0-06. Two early goals from Niall Duffy and Niall Mee from the penalty spot paved the way for the win. A strong defensive display shut the door firmly on the classy Cullhanna outfit, and was some measure of revenge for heavy defeat earlier in the season. Best of luck to the lads in the final against a very good Crossmaglen team next weekend. Strong displays from the whole team backed the obvious skills of James Donnelly and Conor King, and another cohesive display will be required to lift the league crown.

Two more points for Killeavy
Anthony O'Hare scored another fine goal, while Stanfield and Liam O'Hare had good games in a Killeavy victory. A great first half display was tempered by a lacklustre start to the second, before a strong finish killed off the Keady challenge. Match Report.

Big Win for Killeavy In Silverbridge
Half a dozen points from Mark Stanfield, and a great goal from the ever dangerous Anthony O'Hare gave Killeavy's promotin push a big lift on Sunday. Match Report.

Hurlers Reach Junior Final

2nd Annual World Famous Pig Racing Derby
A superb evening’s entertainment in Killeavy on Saturday night saw top flight pig racing return to the Memorial Park. A large family crowd turned up for the extravaganza, and I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle. A great crowd also enjoyed the bingo and the music from the fabulous 'Take One' in the newly refurbished lounge. Photos!!

Killeavy Annual Golf Classic
Last years event was a brilliant success, and we expect the same this year for the Annual Golf Classic. The extravaganza this year takes place in Clover Hill on Saturday 22nd September. The entry fee is £120(180Euro) per four person team. Contact Sean Duffy at 07855378074 to enter a team. Let’s see if someone can wrestle the title away from Benny Tierney and Co this year!!!

Young Stars Represent Their County With Distinction
Congratulations to Paddy Faloon and Lanny Larkin who captured All-Ireland medals with the Armagh U15 development squad in Meath last weekend. Well done also to Joseph Grant who played with Armagh in the All-Ireland Blitz tournament last weekend. He helped Armagh in beating Wicklow, Down and Mayo in the final.

Castlewellan & Kilmacud Sevens
Killeavy enjoyed a great day in Castlewellan on Saturday in the annual sevens competition. The team managed to qualify for the quarter-finals, where they faced last year’s All Ireland finalists St Galls. Despite Evan Quigley’s masterful marking job on starlet CJ McGourty, Killeavy fell just short to the eventual competition winners. Judging by the red faces on Saturday evening, the team should bring a bottle of sun cream to next year’s event!!! Indeed, our seniors have been invited to the most prestigious Kilmacud Crokes Sevens tournament on All-Ireland weekend, and this event always ranks high on my calendar as a superb football and social event.

U14 Enjoy trip to Donegal
Our U14 have had an excellent year, winning the South Armagh league a few weeks ago. The team went on a great end of season trip to Donegal. They enjoyed some superb hospitality, and managed to win a couple of matches against Gaoth Dobhair and Dungloe. Well done to the guys and their expert management team of Paddy Hollywood and Martin Boyle.

Championship heartbreak for Killeavy
A poor sending off was Killeavy's ultimate undoing in the championship encounter in Abbey Park. It was a very winnable match that, despite a good second half comeback, saw them come up two points short. Match Report.

Season ends for Armagh Ladies
Disappointment for Sharon Reel and Aileen Matthews as Armagh went down to Tyrone in Mullingar on Saturday evening. Both girls had great seasons for Armagh, and can hold their heads high. Hard luck, there's always next year!

Killeavy U14 win the LEAGUE!!!
Well done to Paddy Hollywood, Martin Boyle and their charges who capped a superb year with another trophy, this time taking the prized scalp of Shane O'Neills in the league final!! Fotos to follow shortly!! Match Report.

Killeavy Bag Home Win Over Granemore
Eight points was a very flattering margin of victory, but two more crucial points are in the bag for Killeavy. Match Report.

Killeavy Back from the dead in Newtown
A hell of a comeback, 15 points to be precise, but how do dig yourself into such a hole in the first place? Match Report.

Armagh Ladies Play in Killeavy next Saturday
Well done to Aileen Matthews, scorer of eight points against Meath, and walked away with the MVP award on the day. Also great to see Sharon Reel making her mark on the Armagh team. Hopefully they’ll be on form again this Saturday in Killeavy for the qualifier against Down. This is a prestigious fixture for the club, and we would ask our members to come out and support Armagh.

Around the Teams
The minors were disappointed to go out of the Championship on Monday evening in Mullaghbawn, losing by 3-11 to 0-7 against St Josephs. The hurlers lost again to Craobh Rua, while our U16 also lost to Crossmaglen, so not a good week all round. Killeavy U14 beat Dromintee well on Tuesday, following up on a good result against St Pats the week before. The U10 are still awaiting their league final.

Killeavy See off Cruppen
Some super first half football, with Seamus Toner and Stephen Malone in blistering form, saw Killeavy pick up two great points. Stephen McDonnell banged over his usual five points, while Mark Stanfield also returned to the squad. Match Report.

County Players
Well done to Aileen Matthews, Sharon Reel and the Armagh ladies team, who had a good win away in Kildare. Tough luck to Mark Stanfield and Louth who lost narrowly to Cork at the weekend. Lets hope he brings back his good form to Killeavy for the rest of the year.

Around the Teams
An understrength hurling squad lost away in Lurgan to Sean Treacys. The B team played their first match in the new All County B league format and comfortably overcame Tir na nOg in a 2-17 to 0-09 victory. Michael Connolly and Gerard Byrne scored heavily. The minors warmed up for their Championship match with a great win over Dromintee on a score of 1-11 to 0-07. James Donnelly and Paddy Faloon were outstanding in the victory. U16s lost in Portadown to TirnanOg by six points. The U12s followed up a thundering victory in Crossmaglen with defeat against St Pats. The U14 ladies gave themselves too much to do in the second half against Carrickcruppen.

Footballing Fiasco in Ballymacnab
Lets try and forget this one as quickly as possible, Killeavy sunk by some individual errors, and poor forward play. Worse still, ANthony O'Hare was carried off ;-( . Match Report.

Well Done to Aileen and Sharon
Armagh ladies lifted the Ulster title again on Sunday. Aileen Matthews was once again to the fore, scoring seven points in the win. Sharon Reel is also in the squad, and will hopefully feature as Armagh mount another assault on the All-Ireland crown. Enjoy your victory girls!!

Killeavy Win Paddy McDonnell Tournament
Killeavy hurlers won the Paddy McDonnell memorial tournament held in Killeavy on Sunday. They held off some stiff competition throughout the day, beating Craobh Rua in a great final. Stephen McCabe was player of the tournament, while Cathal Magennis also featured strongly. When going to press the competing teams were mulling over the days matches in the newly refurbished lounge. Well done to all who participated in this popular annual tournament.

The U10 team bounced back with a super win against high-flying St Pats on Sunday morning. This win puts them well in the picture for the playoffs. The U12s had no game. The U14 team are playing St Josephs in the shield final on Tuesday evening at 7O'Clock in Mullaghbawn. All support will be very welcome. They also had a walkover win over Mullaghbawn in the league, of which they are top. An unfortunate injury to a St Pat's player saw the U16 league match abandoned. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. The minors enjoyed a good victory over Shane O'Neills in preparation for their championship match at home to Cullaville on Monday night at 7-30pm. Again, come along and give the lads your support. The hurlers and ladies had no game. The ladies are at home to Dromintee next Saturday night in the league.

Tough Win in the Sun
In blistering conditions, a blistering start from Killeavy made all the difference in this hard-fought encounter in Keady. Match Report.

Around the Teams This Week
The minors fought well against Crossmaglen, eventually going down by four points on a score of 3-9 to 2-8. Cathal Magennis and Conor McNulty got the goals. The U16 were well beaten in Cullyhanna. Killeavy Back to Earth with a big Bump!!
Missing about 15 players, Killeavys squad just couldn't stand up to Silverbridge on Friday night. Match Report.

Around the Teams
The U16 had a hugely disappointing defeat in the Championship against St Pats in Cullyhanna. The final score was 1-07 to 0-7, with Killeavy registering many missed chances. The best performers on the night were Michael Reel and James Donnelly. Paddy Faloon picked up a bad shoulder injury, while Killeavy were missing Chris McKnight through suspension. The B team were in Championship action against Cruppen on Wednesday night. The squad was that frail that Stephen McDonnell (senior, that is) and Gerry Watters made up a two man full-forward line, with a combined age of 105!! Incredibly Killeavy won the match by 13 points to 8, with Patrick Hannaway topscoring with six points. Killeavy were well beaten in the U12 championship by Shane O'Neills on Monday night. They were without their best player, Jamie Cosgrove, while Patrick Burns put in a superb performance for Killeavy. The U14 had a win over Dromintee. Our U10 B team (basically U9s) are showing signs of improvement, losing narrowly away to Whitecross on a score of 1-4 to 1-6 on Friday night. Rebecca Gamble had a great game for Killeavy.

The U12 lost narrowly to Shane O'neill's last week , but had a good win in a challenge match with Clan na Gael from Dundalk on Saturday. The U12 ladies had a strong win over Clady.

Let's hope they keep it up!! The hurlers and B-teams had no games.

A tremendous honour for Conor King, who won an U16 Ulster Vocational Schools All-Star award due to his exceptional displays for St Pauls. Caolan Trainor also won the corresponding honour at U14 level. Two underage stars of today, hopefully the senior stars of the future!!

The U-10s had a convincing win in Cruppen, while the U12 took the prize scalp of Crossmaglen on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-6. This was another good team performance, with Mark McGennity man of the match, and some good scores from Sean Mooney and Matt McEvoy. The U-14 were much too strong for Carrickcruppen. The minor team also recorded a great victory over Silverbridge, winning 15 points to 1-9. Conor King excelled with nine points in this one. James Magennis had the misfortune to break both wrists in this encounter, so get well soon!!! Disappointingly, no referee showed for our U16 and B teams.

The all important goals came from Darragh Byrne, Paddy McArdle and Conor Hannaway.

B Team Draw in Dromintee
The B team were away from home again on Wednesday evening in Dromintee. It was a very competitive encounter as ever, with Chris Hickey playing well in midfield, and Johnny McKevitt and Michael Connolly dangerous up front. Sean O'Hanlon made two fine saves in the opening half, and despite being two behind against the breeze in the second half, Killeavy fought back to draw. Final Score: Dromintee 1-08 Killeavy 0-11.

Sean Fearon Memorial Night
A great night was had by all on Saturday for Sean Fearon Memorial night. Tremendous organisation by Sinead Reel saw a lot of the great Killeavy players of the not too distant past back in the green and black. The match with Dromintee ended in an honourabe draw, while the party went on late into the night. The auction raised a tidy penny for Newry Hospice and the Beaumont foundation.

Killeavy Notes Are Back
After a long break for the winter, killeavy notes will be back in evidence both online and in the papers. Great to see the B team get off to a winning start with a big victory in Cullaville last night 3-14 to 0-11. The U14 came close in the Feile semi against Shane O'Neill's a few weeks ago, but they should go well in the league!!

Killeavy enters advanced technological era
The new scoreboard is on show in Killeavy at last. This is a great asset for the club and great thanks to sponsor Cathal Boylan and John King who constructed the base with turning mechanism so that it can be used for both fields.
