Ulster Hurling League:Killeavy 3-07 Warrenpoint 1-10

Killeavy finally got their first win of the Ulster league with a hard fought win against Warrenpoint on Thursday night. Killeavy played with the wind in the first half and despite dominating, only led by 2 points, due to a serious of wides and the concession of frees.
Killeavy played well early in the second half and led by 5 points midway through the second half. An injury to goalkeeper Shane Quinn, meant a reshuffle in the killeavy team and they held on for a deserved 3 point win. There is still a lot of improvement needed, after this performance. Goals were scored by Paul McArdle, Conor "Chick" Hannaway and Paddy McArdle.

Ulster Hurling League:Naomh Moninna 1-09 Killeavy 3-16

Killeavy started this game very poorly, failing to win much possession, and continually giving the ball away to the opposition. Their cause was not helped by the fact that the match was played on extremely poor surface, certainly not fit for hurling, where every ball became a lottery. However, Killeavy's panicing certainly made matters worse. As a consequence, they went in 1-08 to 0-05 down at half time, after giving away a slack goal and some soft frees. Some nice words from the manager at half time had the desired effect, with Killeavy taking complete control in the second half and running out comfortable winners, with some excellent midfield and forward play. There were great scores from Darren O'Hanlon (0-07), Dara Byrne (1-04), Conor "Chick" Hannaway (1-01). Best for Killeavy were Paul McArdle, Darren O'Hanlon and Dara Byrne.
