OKilleavy u14s unbeaten run continued on Tuesday evening when they won the South Armagh u14 League title.
This was their fourth trophy of the season adding to the South Armagh Féile, County Armagh Féile and South Armagh Championship trophies.
As in the championship, they were facing St. Joseph?s from the Lissummon/ Poyntzpass area who started the game well racing into a
six points to two lead after only 15 minutes. Killeavy were then sparked into life by a well taken Michael Boyle goal and gradually
gained ascendancy despite playing against the wind. St. Joseph?s missed a couple of goal chances in the first half including one
that was magnificently saved by Cathal Fearon in the Killeavy nets leaving his side two points ahead at the break on a
scoreline of Killeavy 1.07 to St. Joseph?s 0.08.
Half-Time: Killeavy 1-07 St. Josephs 0-08.
I dont know what was said by managers Paddy Hollywood and Martin Boyle at the break but it certainly had the desired effect
as Killeavy produced a wonderful second half display to completely run away with the game. They added 1.15 to their score
with the goal coming from a great solo effort by Kealan O'Hare. St. Josephs didn't score at all in the second half though
they never stopped trying and once again Cathal Fearon was forced to make a great save to deny them compensation for their efforts.
Congratulations to the team and management and best wishes as they go on to try and win the fifth and last trophy
of the season - the Armagh Championship.
