U10 Division 2 League Final: Killeavy 4-04 Crossmaglen 3-04

What a fantastic game of football, played out in sundrenched conditions in Newtownhamilton on Sunday morning. Killeavy faced old foe Crossmaglen, in what turned into a real ding-dong battle between these two heavyweight contenders. As the scores went one way then the other, the sidelines cheered and groaned. Cross had a handy one point lead at the break, on a score of 2-2 to 2-1, but Killeavy never said die, and in the mercurial young Declan Donaghy, there is surely a "Stephen McDonnell" of the future.
He was "the man", bagging four goals as Killeavy pipped their illustrious opponents at the post. A tremendous team performance all over the field, and both teams are to be congratulated on their sporting approach. The first of many trophies for this young, talented squad, surely!! Well done to the tactical supremos Tom Magennis, Marty Burns and their young charges.
