The big question was should this game have been played at all. Underfoot conditions were
treacherous with players splashing through puddles of water all over the field but there is no doubt that
St. Patrick's were more up for the game and handled the conditions much better than their Killeavy counterparts.
Killeavy were guilty of overplaying the ball and trying to work the position for the perfect score -
a tactic which was never suited to the wet conditions. St. Patrick's more direct style of play paid much
more dividends and they were worthy winners on the night. Management will be hoping for a much better
performance in Killeavy's league fixture this week, at home to Carrickcruppen on Friday.
The Clan na nGael match has been put back until August by the County board.
