Silverbridge 0-07 Killeavy 2-06

The skies had cleared by the time the action moved to Silverbridge for the All County B league game. Conditions underfoot were still treacherous and the strong wind made ball handling and scoring a bit of a lottery. In fairness, both teams played better against the wind with Killeavy scoring 1-04 in the first half to lead by five points at the break. The goal came after a determined effort by Kevin McArdle who managed to dispossess the goalkeeper and finish to the untended net. The second half saw Killeavy score first through Eugene Coogan but then Silverbridge roared back into the action and for twenty minutes laid siege to the Killeavy goal. Four points in a row brought them within two of Killeavy and they have only their shooting boots to blame for not capitalising more on this period of pressure. A foul on Adrian Doran led to a penalty and Adrian took it himself, despatching it coolly into the bottom left corner to give Killeavy some breathing space. Another point from Raymond Teggart meant that a late Silverbridge score was little more than compensation for their efforts. Killeavy B have now won all four of their league games and have qualified for the final of the All-County league with every chance of adding a piece of silverware at the tail end of the season.
