The senior ladies had a great and dramatic victory over Harps on Saturday evening. A last gasp penalty save from Nicola Cromie
insured the points stayed with a brave Killeavy team who won by 2 points.
Three goals and a point by Marianne Watters in the first half was the key to an excellent victory for the girls, who all played well on the night.
The U12 girls remain well on top of the league with cionsecutive victories on the last two Friday nights. They won convincingly against
Dromintee on Friday past, while the previous week, they had a hard fought victory over Crossmaglen in Killeavy.
Both teams found the slippy underfoot conditions hard to come to terms with but Killeavy settled and got a couple of points on the board
thanks to Kerrie Fegan and Bridgetta Quinn. Cross then got into the game and persistent pressure on the Killeavy backs resulted in two goals and a point.
This sparked Killeavy into action and they fought back with two well taken goals from Kerrie Fegan and points from Megan Boyle and Rebecca Gamble (2).
The second half saw great defensive work from the Killeavy backs with the blocking and tackling being second to none, restricting Cross to a single
point in the second half. Despite having a lot of the play the scores were hard to come by but they kept their heads and finished the game very
strongly with well taken points by Bridgetta Quinn and a terrific hat-trick of points from Megan Boyle. A terrific performance all-round holding
out much hope for the rest of the league and championship campaigns.
The u16s gave a much improved performance in their defeat by Crossmaglen on Monday. Great heart and passion all round, epitomised in the displays
of Sinead Kenna and Katie McManus saw Killeavy compete right to the end.
A tremendous second half fight back saw our u14?s claim the spoils in Mullaghbawn on Thursday night.
Trailing by eight points at half-time, a hat-trick of goals from Shannon Britton, another by Rebecca Gamble
and a last minute strike by Bridgetta Quinn saw Killeavy home in a fantastic game.
