MFL: clan na nGael 0 7 Killeavy 3 14
On a perfect evening for football, Killeavy travelled to Clans on Monday night, and found the pitch in inch perfect condition for the game. After an even first ten minutes, Killeavy began to stretch clear of their opponents, the team driven on well by Jamie Cosgrove at centre back, and a great centre field display from Eoin McParland. With an abundance of ball up front, Thomas Hannaway was onto the scoreboard quickly with two points, and in between these scores came a nicely finished goal by Niall Hannaway.
From a scoring point of view, Mickey Boyle provided a deadly burst of 1-1 to effectively put the game out of Clans reach after twenty minutes. From then on, it was an exhibition of scores from Kealan O’Hare. He finished the half with three great scores from play and kicked three more in the second period.
This was a much more fluent performance from the team than we’ve seen in recent weeks. Indeed, the county minors – Michael Murphy, Donal O’Neill and Ciaran O’Hanlon didn’t need to be at their best, as strong displays from the rest of the side was enough to take care of business. Lets see more improvement from the team, with the championship looming a few weeks away.
Ciaran O’Hanlon left the field injured after 40 minutes, hopefully the injury wont take long to clear up.
